Global ONE Conference, Lisbon, October 1, 2025
Day 2 of ONE is a wrap, and it’s hard to believe it’s over already! What a conference it’s been. Our highest conference and keynote attendance ever, it’ll be hard to beat it in the future.
Although things got started a little later today, before long all of the FIL was rocking. Everyone in the Community Village was talking about the Neo Party and how amazing it was around the ping pong tables. I heard that a crowd of fans even lifted Neo on their shoulders and carried him around like the hero he is. Thank you to everyone in the Community who brought their enthusiasm and spirit to make Neo’s big night a success.
The booths that were popular yesterday were even busier today. The excitement over the GA of Agent Workbench really showed as people waited in line to give it a spin. And the hot topic at the Mentor Booth was (of course) vibe coding. Everyone wanted to see how it was possible. In addition, the Champions were also happily sharing and showing how important the OutSystems platform is to their strategies and timelines.
Meanwhile, Education Services made a major announcement. There is now a brand-new Boot Camp: “ODC for O11 Developers,” to help OutSystems 11 professionals get to know ODC tools and features; dive into ODC architecture, CI/CD, user governance, testing automation; and learn by doing, with interactive hands-on exercises.
Throughout the day, just like yesterday, Decoded Podcast interviewed team members, attendees, and speakers to keep everyone at home up-to-date on all the amazing activities, product announcements, pastéis de nata, and the future of software development!
The Innovation Awards wrapped up today, and it was a thrill to see The Pokémon Company International, a subsidiary of The Pokémon Company in Japan, accept their Digital Experiences Award on the Mainstage.
The sessions on the Community stages were packed. “A Component a Day Keeps the Boredom Away: Finding Fun in our Day-to-Day Dev” was a huge hit with developers because it focused on reigniting the joy of creating, learning through play, and proving that fun and function can coexist. The people I spoke to afterwards, mentioned that the session helped them remember their own moments of inspiration or those special sparks that took them down a fun path.
It was also a rush to walk the floor of the Expo Hall and see people scanning each other’s badges to make new friends or start a conversation with an old one. People also took selfies as they found attendees who were carrying tote bags or wearing red shirts. And, of course, Neo was always up for a photo.
At the end of the day, Miguel Baltazar, Snezana Djurisic, Andreia Tulcidás, and Neo closed out ONE at the final ceremony just as they opened it, with energy and joy. It was a time for celebration as numerous awards were given out, including the Neo Awards and the Build for the Future Hackathon awards. Congratulations to everyone who received these awards for their impressive contributions to the OutSystems Community and those communities that benefited from the apps built at the hackathon.
Other conference winners included a raffle winner and another App Creation Challenge winner, Eduardo Robim.
But I personally believe that everyone who attended this conference for all the many reasons, including upskilling, networking, speaking, and having fun, are all winners. See you at ONE next year, date, time, and location coming soon!
