[Icons For Everyone] Icons (fontawesome) slow on load, showing squares in Safari

Anyone else noticed some of the non-default fa-icons (like user_plus) do not load in safari (square) and the development-environment (blank) or load slow in IE / Chrome? 

I noticed all other fonts show up as blank in the development-environment as well.

Any clues?

I mean the Icons that are not already present in the RichWidgets implementation of font-awesome

I've tested with (latest versions):
  • Chrome
  • Chrome Canary
  • Safari
  • IE 11
  • Firefox
  • Opera
All of the icons appear at the same time, all loaded correctly, didn't notice anything unusual

We do run over SSL only, don't know if that could be an issue?
