When I take a look at this component I got the idea that I need to have an Elastic account to be able to use this, is this correct? Is this a free account?

Hi Evert,

you'll need an Elastic Search service running. It can be hosted by you (https://www.elastic.co/products) or used as a service.

This app was tested with the Elastic Search AWS cloud offer that you can find at https://www.elastic.co/cloud/as-a-service and that you can try for 14 days free of charge.
