WebPatterns- function isPhone/isTablet/isDesktop not works for iPad pro
Question

Hi,

Just found something that iPad Pro is always treated as desktop rather than iPad/tablet. 

The DEVICE_TYPE fetch from cookie is always 'desktop' on iPad Pro. 

When will it have an update on this?

Hi Kobe,

Problem is I think IPad pro has desktop like browsing capabilities,and as such device detection is not easy (for more info see https://stackoverflow.com/questions/57776001/how-to-detect-ipad-pro-as-ipad-using-javascript).

You could check yourself with some javascript based on the possible screen sized of the Ipad Pro: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/57776001/how-to-detect-ipad-pro-as-ipad-using-javascript

It's not just Ipad Pro, it also doesn't work on the 2 Ipads I own which are not pro version ipads.  It sounds like this is a bug that is known and in some posts I've seen that it was supposed to be remedied with a release a few years back but as of Mar 2024 I am still seeing this issue.
