First, I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe!

Although the week is almost over, we’re still going full steam ahead thanks to your help with adding new ideas and helping to launch new apps to help others in need. Below you can find a quick update on the latest project in the COVID-19 Community Response Program.

Project #9

The idea Aldeias com Rede (“Small villages network”) is to support Municipalities and Parish Councils creating solidarity networks to help populations in the most vulnerable groups, namely elders and people with chronic diseases, that must be confined at home, get medicines or essential goods, among others. This group is normally info-excluded, so in each village, an interlocutor for the population communicates needs through the application, and the Municipality is responsible for the subsequent delivery of orders.

This project is being piloted in Proença a Nova, Portugal, where local volunteers developed a web and a mobile app during the weekend using OutSystems and made it available to Municipality employees to use, tracking the daily requests with the necessary details.

As a reminder, here are the project selection criteria:

• Potential impact as measured by total population helped

• Technical feasibility of using the OutSystems platform

• Project team commitment to build and run the project

• Availability of relevant subject matter experts in the team
