[Apex Charts Library] Branching Apex Charts into new Forge Component

Hey,

There are outstanding issues with this component, and the maintainers seems to have left for greener pastures. What is the procedure for branching this project and fixing the issues that have been found?

  1. Date time axis issues
  2. Drop shadows that cannot be turned off on both graphs and labels inside graphs
  3. Possibly more

These issues are fixable as they're part of and have known fixes in the underlying JavaScript library, but have not been addressed here since August 2022 (4-5 months!) - this component is basically not maintained.

What is the procedure to branch a forge component? Does anyone know? Original authors will retain all original credits of course. I obviously don't want to infringe on any rights of anyone, or step on any toes, so what would you recommend I do? This cannot be the first time a component stopped being maintained?

Anyone have any insight into what happened to Team Nexllence? They all went to ODC?

We're deeply dependent on this component, and 4 months is getting to be a long time without any life signs. :-)

have you tried joining the team ?  Or if that doesn't work, PM some of the people on there ?  Or as a last resort, maybe ask the MVP community if they have rights to make you a contributor.

I think it is not desirable to have another component alongside an abandoned version in the forge, so ideally, if original contributors find themselves short on time, they invite you or someone else in as a new contributor.

You can then publish a newer version with the fixes.

I don't think this means you would be stepping on any toes.

I did PM some of the people there (Paulo Moreira), but no reply.

But thank you for clearing up the process for me, Dorine!
