Multidomain SAN Certificates versus Multidomain SAN wildcard certificates

Hi,

We need to host multiple domains (ex. mysite.com and othersite.com) and multiple subdomains (ex. app1.mysite.com and appx.othersite.com). Although this need is documented to be archived by using SAN Certificates (Use your SSL domain in Outsystems) we have one question that may be relevant when choosing / buying a Multidomain Certificate.

Regarding different choices of validation offered by providers (domain validation, organisation validation or extended validation) we think that is somehow indifferent regard our objectives.

But, when regarding choosing between a:

- simple SAN Multidomain (mysite.com, othersite.com, app1.mysite.com, ppx.othersite.com)

- or a wildcard Multidomain (ex. *.mysite.com and *.othersite.com)

is any difference / preference when applied to Outsystems?

Just to clarify. Our doubt isn't about the difference between the two types of certificates, but if there is any problem implementing multidomain wildcard certificates in Outsystems (ex. *.mysite.com and *.othersite.com). We would prefer using wildcard multidomains, in order to use new subdomains anytime without changing the certificate or using indirect configurations to achieve the “same” results.

Thank you very much,

Ângelo

Thank you very much. But my doubts remains regarding if there is any problem using multidomain wildcard certificates (not  only subdomains)
