The feature you referred is a live chat for customer support and we use a third party for that. It only works for that specific interaction.
Despite liking your idea, implementing a instant chat feature would take resources that we can't commit to in the foreseeable future.
Currently the Community development team is focusing on other priorities.
I will keep this idea "On our radar" and see if it gains more upvoting.
