Suppose if we have one forge application install for example- old idp module which is currently in use in a specific module and working fine.

Now if we are creating new application for which we need latest idp from forge then we should have 2 options :-

1. Download as a new application 

2. Replace old application

Currently we don't have these options instead outsystems don't let us download component directly. We have to download it from browser and when we upload it in environment it will replace old module.

I also know why Outsystems do that due to the reason of application Identifier. 

This feature is available in Mendix. So i think Outsystems should also have one option. Which could be handy some times when we want both the solutions.
