It happens a lot when you are typing something(sending a message or commenting on something) and if you refresh the screen or close the screen the message disappears, it would be great to be able to save the messages or comments if this situation happens.

Why does it happens a lot? I cannot recall it happens to me...

Maybe I didn't explain that well or you just want me to tell you why this is really necessary.

It might happen sometimes, it might not happen, it depends on what you do with your clicks, imagine I will not give you all the different ways you/OS can possibly close/refresh/kill/freeze/etc your tab(s). I didn't invent this overnight, there are some website behaviours where this happens and this idea/functionality it's a way to keep you from losing your thoughts or work.

I just hope that never happens to you. But for those who type more, losing the flow and what you've written after thinking about the subject or problem is not so good and is indeed frustrating.

Hello Márcio,

Just to understand better and clarify your idea.

The focus is on preventing the user to leave the page, and for example a pop up "Are you sure you want to leave? Your progress will be lost" is a solution or is more you want to be able to leave, come back and see a type of "unsaved changes" if you go to the same field you were previously writing.

Thank you in advance for clarifying

Hello Ricardo,

That would be a great improvement, that way we don't lose anything and we are sure we want to leave when we have "work" in progress in a text box(comment, messages, etc)

Thank you!!

Hello

When we are writing solution and wrote a very long solution some time and sometime we have to swicth between different tabs to copy/pase links or attahments.

So sometimes accidently we close the tab on which we are writing a comment or solution,

so in case accidently user close the tab there should be a popup open, with a message like

Are you sure you want to close this tab? all progress will be lost.

Yes       NO

Something like this.

It can prevent the user to directly close the tab.

Hope this can help community members.

Hi,

If implemented, it should be a configurable solution. Rather than a popup, I would like to have the option to save a reply as draft without sending. Then I can safely close the tab, and continue on the reply on any time convenient. See this idea: https://www.outsystems.com/ideas/12115/save-to-draft-option-on-forum/

To get a warning before closing a tab Google Chrome have this already as a feature for Apple Macs, for windows you can install an extension. I guess other browsers have similar features.

Regards,

Daniel

If am writing a solution or I can say If I am replying to a post and in the middle of that due to some reason our connection is lost or we cant post it that time b so it can move to archive for some time. Later on after a day if I haven't  posted it or did not make any changes to it, so it will be removed from drafts. removing it from draft can have many scenarios.

Thanks,

 Hello Tousif

The community squad agrees that this feature would bring value to the community and therefore I will mark this idea on our radar.

We use a third-party for our editor content and that feature sends information to an API so the implementation might bring security issues but the team will access it.

Thank you for your idea.
