Selecting Variable's data type from the popup

Development Environment 11.55.39 (Build 64352)

Selecting of the variable's datatype from the pop-up which was in the last version. But in the new version we have to select it from the dropdown which is very time consuming and not appropriate for the long drop down options.

While selecting records of lists or list of records we have to spent lot of time to follow the steps and last it not get what we desired. 

If there will be a pop-up open when double clicking the datatype it will be very easy to select the datatype very easily and fast, it will help us for the productivity plus time saving.

Funny, I experience the new way as faster as it allows me to type data type and then does an autocomplete

Okay, But I found it complicated in case of defining list of records or something like that.

Really? It is so easy.

  1. In data type attribute type : List
  2. Press enter
  3. On the dialog shown select the entity record or structure

Okay Thank you , Sure I will try this. 
Actually as a habit I used to double click the datatype option and found that irritating.

This is actually already available! Service Studio version 11.55.39 and ODC Studio version 1.6.0. Updating the idea.

Merged this idea with 'Bring Back the Old Data Type Selector Dialogue Box' (created on 21 Apr 2023 06:16:53 by Mayur Budukale)

Please bring back the previous data type selector. The older one used to open a Dialogue box which made it easier to Set compound data types. The current one is just a lot of scrolls to do the very same thing. and when double clicked on the datatype selector shows this popup.

I don't get this one, for example, to create a list of record:

1. Type "Li" and press Enter

 data type List is selected and the dialogue to select an element for the list is shown:

2. Type the name of your data element e.g., while you type the list of possible options is limited, and you select the element you want to add to the list.

I literarily don't scroll any more, since search with autocomplete is implemented.
