In almost every app that I've seen, it always needed to add a dropdown at least once and it's a bit odd (and annoying) that we need to set an Empty Text value at every new dropdown added since it will have a null value by default.

It could be a default text like the "dropdown" style class or a simple module configuration like the validation messages :)
