Calculate the number of AOs of a software development, based on a Function Point estimation

Having a SW estimation tool developed with OutSystems, we are thinking in adapt it to calculate also the number of AOs that will consume the estimated app.

- Adapt the functionality items of IFPUG metodology, convert the function process, etc. to match with AO concept of OutSystems.

- Adapt the software.

- Let's calculate it.

Hi,

Raúl, if you already have an estimation tool, why not extend it with 3 columns per function point:

#screens, #entities, #API methods.

Those are the 3 object types in OutSystems that count towards AO's.

Hi Alberto, sure, those calculate the AOs of your application, but our tool is to calculate the future AOs that your APP will have, in early stage of estimation.

Hi Raúl, OutSystems had a sizing tool in the past but it was made end of life.

Most companies, just have a tool or excel to estimate the number of screens, entities and api calls based on a list of requirements or user stories.
