Service Studio customizable workspace

Just like many other sotfware solutions in the market, it would be very helpful if one could customize the workspace, for example, moving the toolbox to the right side of the main area or the development tabs to the top, etc, or even add my own shortcuts to the toolbar, show my favourite or most used widgets in the toolbox, etc...

Customization should be only the first step, it should also allow to create a new MainEditor for side by side comparison, create different workspaces for different purposes (debugging, screen development, data modeling, etc).

And I believe it has barely changed since the first versions. Its time to give it some refresh.

Personally, I prefer the simpleness of the service studio, and the fact that it is not changed that much for many years.

I am not suggesting changing the Outsystems default, but rather give the user the power to chode and/or edit its own workspace. Each one has their own preferences, and in UX I believe its always better to leave the user to have the option than make the decision for him.

Since the migration to a web tool will not be implemented (such a shame) I also hope for more customization. Something along the lines of;

  • A scripting interface to offload a lot of repetitive tasks (entities and crud actions for instance?).
  • Setting keyboard shortcuts would also be a great addition. 
  • Changing the grid so I can better have a uniform look for my actions.
  • Having a dedicated space for exception management (left of the start widget, collapsible please). 
  • Being able to create a space for action and screen comments in the top of the action/screen (same info as in the description property)
  • Being able to set environment policies so that all developers use the exact same settings that have to due with code consistency (see some points above)
  • And a lot more. 

There are already ideas created for one or more of these items :)
