Platform Server 11.0.108.0

We would like to be able to have multiple OutSystems configurations running simultaneously on the same server, instead of needing a machine for each.

Hello Justin,

Could you please elaborate with a couple of examples of why and what you would like to do, if the platform could operate in such a way?

With best regards,

Stoyan

If you are hosting multiple clients it is nice, or need to keep things in physically separate DB instances.

That said... VMs and containers are the industry preferred approach to this stuff nowadays, and have been for a while. With modern management tools it's not *that* big of a deal to just slice up the physical hardware into VMs or containers and work like that.

Hi Justin,

First of all, thank you for your idea!

We believe we are addressing the problem with our roadmap for container support. If you think that's not the case, let us know so that we can dig a little bit more on the problem.

Cheers

Hi again,

Now that OutSystems 11 is public available, we are now addressing the scalability problem with containers. From now on, you don't need to a new machine to have a new OutSystems application instance. Just deploy your application in a container and spin up as much instances as you need without the need of extra machines.

Thanks for contributing with this idea.

Better usage of a server resources is now possible with containers without the need to spin up a new front end to have another instance of you application running.
