It would be great that the Platform could provide a feature for developers to implement a way for their end-users to consult release notes when a new version of an application is available.

For example, with mobile apps. When the app is automatically upgraded, end-users get notified with a message of that at the top of the screen. However, they don't know what's has changed.

Now, if the development team has release notes, why don't the platform provide a way of allowing them to integrate with the upgrade to a new version? Like, for instance, in the mobile app notification, customize a link to the release notes.

I'm following up on the suggestion for an update-related messaging feature for applications on the OutSystems platform.

You should make these messages more interactive and informative, following OutSystems' model in the Service Studio. When the IDE is updated, an interactive popup is displayed upon its first execution, presenting the key highlights of the new version.

For applications built on the platform, the following enhancements could be implemented:

  1. Replace the simple feedback messages with a customizable modal or popup that supports:
    • Titles and detailed descriptions.
    • Links to documentation or release notes.
    • Images or short explanatory videos.
    • Interactive buttons, such as "Learn More," "Explore New Features," or "Continue."
  2. Enable personalization of the popup content to highlight:
    • Newly released features.
    • Key updates are described in the release notes.
    • Warnings about potential impacts.
  3. Provide developers with granular control over the feature, such as:
  • Enabling or disabling the popup based on the target audience or context.
  • Configuring display frequency (e.g., once, on every login, etc.).
  • Support for multiple languages.

Leandro.
