you can do ctrl-O (or the down-arrow on at the top-bar where the tabs are), 

selecting a different version will open it in a new tab?

Yes, with ctrl-O will open. 

Going to Module - Open Other Version the behavior is different.

Yeah, wondered myself recently why that wasn't possible, quite annoying.

This would be a good nice to have. 

It really annoys me that when i have to open a different version of the module, i have to open manually a different tab so that my current version tab stays open.

Yes, I was facing this issue too.

If any module version is selected make sure it opens in new tab instead current tab which leads to effect my code changes (Which is not good).

So, i have to open a same module in a new tab by (from selecting development or select from module search by ClT+O ) which is time consuming.
