Why can't you use the discussion to provide feedback from the component to the owner? I'm not seeing the value of having 2 ways to submit feedback. Maybe I'm not understanding the use case.

Hi Ana,

When we click on Discussion, it will create a post on Forum and people will think that that user is facing some problem. Also that Discussion post is ignored by original creator for many times and user don't get the required answer but if we click on Submit Feedback, that will stay with the component and people will add opinion about that component and that wouldn't be visible on Forums.

Providing written feedback for a component could be great. Sometimes, stars are not enough.

Although I like the idea of written feedback, you say that:

1) Discussion will create a post on forum and people will think that the user is facing some problem

2) Discussion post is often ignored by original creator

3) Users don't get required answers.

While not strictly, point 1 is a "fix" for point 3: other users of the same component could help. About point 2, I don't think that by adding a new functionality, original creator's would go and reply to everything since they are not doing for the discussion posts.

If you're "proposing" written feedback on the component along with the star rating, that seems a good idea. If what you're proposing is a kind of "component-only" discussion section, that would break the purpose of the community, no?

I just described what are the common problems with Forge components but yes you are right I am "proposing" written feedback on the component along with the star rating. Also this feedback will help MVPs when they think that some components needs to be removed from the forge.
