More collaboration features for published components

Forge

Forge needs more collaboration features, so that changes can be submitted easier. The only interaction possible is to post a question in the forum or apply to be a team member. The other option would be clone the component and submit a new updated component to the forge.

  • Allow users to submit changes, that would be approved by the component team
  • Allow users to explicitly fork from existing component, there would be a visual indication of the "source" component 


Basically make Forge a bit more dynamic and github-ish.

We just started working on your idea, I mean, have the ability to collaborate with the component owner/team, so I set the status to “Working on it”. We expect it to be ready during Q3. I’ll post an update once it’s done!

Hi Ana,

I'm just wondering how this Idea is going. I also would really to have the option to be able to have a bit more deeper interaction with a forge component/developer by being able to make some changes locally and then to be able to submit these change to the forge. The owner of the component can then review these and if needed, merge these with the actual component.  This would really be helpful since we often find small issues or improvements with some components that would also benefit the community but giving these improvements back to the community is a bit to hard right now for a lot of developers.

Hi, João. As Ana mentioned in 2018 half of you idea was implemented at the time. 

I'll mark it as implemented because of that. I would suggest that you create another one for the other half. We think might be a good idea and that way we'll validate the community interest in it.
