Redirect Emails To Test List per eSpace

In Service Center there is a setting to redirect e-mails sent by the platform to a defined list e-mail addresses for testing purposes. It would be useful if this could be set per eSpace, for example in the Operation tab of the eSpace screen. In this way you can test your e-mails, without receiving all other test e-mails from other eSpaces, or bothering other developers that also want to test their e-mails.

I like this idea!

I would be great even by Application!

It would be nice to be able to specify who receives emails per Espace in the test environment.  We are building a global team of developers but would only like to receive emails from applications we are working on rather than all of them.

Yes, I would love to see test-email address per application instead of 1 global one.

In our lower order environments, we have the Email Redirect option turned on to (1) make sure test emails do not erroneously make their way into the inboxes of unwitting civilians and (2) to allow our dev team to test out systems in which emails must be unique (therefore made up). We are now experiencing an issue where want to open up an app in one of those environments for testing by an internal group of beta users. However, we cannot just turn off the email redirect option because other business units still need it to be turned on for testing purposes. With it on, our test group cannot receive system emails which are vital to the user experience of the application.

It would be helpful, in short, to be able to selectively turn on/off this option by espace. An additional benefit would be to configure the email redirect list application/module since we have many different teams working on different projects and we don't all need every email sent across the platforms.

Merged this idea with 'Email Override should be Application Specific' (created on 05 Nov 2019 19:51:28 by Paul Bainter)

Currently, Service Center has an Email Configuration page under Administration that allows all outgoing emails to be send to an override email(s).  This is wonderful functionality, but it would be even more awesome if there were also an application specific email override. My company has many applications that end up sending out email and we have several teams that deal with these different applications. Having only one override at an environment level is very limiting and difficult to manage as some of our application can literally send several thousand emails. Providing an application level override would allow the emails to go to an override address that is specific to an application so it can be dealt with by the team that owns that application.

We recently ran into case because environment is maintained by parent company and we need to change the email to address. I think this idea need to be implemented either at application level or have multiple configuration in service center.

Hi Vitor,

Thank you for the update on status. This is becoming a very big need in our organization. Can you please provide insight on an expected implementation date for this?

Regards,

Vinu

Hi Vinu,

We will be tackling Emails on the context of Reactive Web Apps and our main focus will be feature parity with Traditional Web. Nevertheless, we added this to our radar as a possible improvement for a future version. We will make sure to share news as soon as we can

Thank you

Merged this idea with 'Redirect e Mail configure list per application or group' (created on 10 Sep 2019 13:43:13 by Stefano Valente)

At the moment you can redirect emails in SC. This is handled for each environment separately ( if not in production mode).

We work with 4 teams and this means i get emails sent from application i am not working on.  It would be great to have the possibility to send emails to a different list on application level.

This is a great idea and absolutely needed for the platform.

I was about to create the same idea. It is indeed super needed when working with complex enterprises landscape, with multiple Apps and teams.

It is a very oblivious feature team will need when multiple application team working in the same environment.

This is a must have! I hope it will be implemented soon.

This is an essential feature that should definitely be implemented as soon as possible.
