When adding a new idea selecting a category from a dropdown would make life easier for both the community and the forum moderators. This way the moderators don’t have to categorize the ideas afterwards. Maybe only if the idea was miscategorized in their opinion.
A simple addition to this great forum!

This feature is available only for moderators.
This will allow them to follow up better with the users and monitor the idea lifecycle. For example, I'm responsible for reading all the ideas and pick up and categorize all of the ideas related to the community: forums, forge, etc.
This is especially important, for some products where community members don't have the full context of how does it works internally.

While adding new idea there should be option to choose category. Instead of tagging it explicitly.

For me its not there, refer the below screenshot for the same.
This field is visible to you because may be you are MVP (This is my wild guess, I may be wrong)

Oh my, you are right! That's exactly what it is! LOLOL yes you are right, Idea writers should have the ability to set Category. For YEARS I have wondered why no one does this! :D

I guess this idea is implemented now. I am able to select category wile creating an Idea.
