Lifetime

With reference to this thread: https://www.outsystems.com/forums/discussion/31032/analyitcs-mobile-apps-in-lifetime/

Currently, lifetime Analytics only reports on web applications.

Please, enable reporting for mobile application on the server and network tabs. It is understandable that the client side of the mobile application would be difficult to report.

This functionality has been needed since P10 and is critical to delivering on the promise of platform analytics.

There is also an expectation being set on lifetime Analytics when the "Network" tab is selected: "Data collected when applications are running natively on a mobile device"

It would be great if the following information was made available:

Device type (tablet, mobile)

Network type (3G, 2G, the other G, wifi, slowfi)

OS Type and version (the 2 usual suspects)

Browser Type and version (webkit, blink, etc.)

Initial splash load time

Everything else that is reported on the server side for web applications

Thanks

Ouen

I'm from Outsystems Partner in Indonesia.

This *missing* feature was the most often asked by our client.

They expect mobile apps can be analyzed the same way as web apps.

Currently there aren't any plans to add this to OutSystems in the near future.  There are several mobile app monitoring 3rd party solutions on the market that can fulfill this need.

Hi Ouen,

Thank you for sharing your idea.

As said, currently there aren't any plans to add this to OutSystems in the near future.  There are several mobile app monitoring 3rd party solutions on the market that can fulfill this need.

I'm changing this idea to "not right now".

Cheers

In this case, could you recommend a 3rd party solution that works well with OutSystems?

@João Bento: With the introduction of Reactive Web Apps will OutSystems can we expect these applications added to Lifetime or are they treated as Mobile Apps and thus excluded from an important performance analyses tool?

Merged this idea with 'Reactive web app integration with LifeTime analytics' (created on 08 Oct 2019 21:24:16 by Daniël Kuhlmann)

It would be nice if for Reactive web applicactions, LifeTime Analytics would be able to collect and show performance figures and bottlenecks, so that we don't have to depend on third party software to integrate with.

I think this was a longtime wish for mobile web development too.

It looks like OutSystems is moving more and more in the direction of integration with other solution providers (ci/cd, workflow, performance monitoring). There is something positive to say about that, but also it is less and less a platform that provides an almost complete platform.

More and more of our clients are moving to reactive and/or mobile.

Currently OutSystems Lifetime Analytics only supports Traditional applications.

This isn't clearly communicated in the sales material of OutSystems, clients are expecting all there applications to have performance analytics.

Therefor this seems an important topic

Last time, Outsystems Sales Team are demoing this part of Lifetime Analytics, selling this to client.

Now, client is very angry that this does not work with Reactive Web Apps (not just mobile), since Outsystems really push reactive and put aside the traditional web apps.

It's not transparent in sales material, and this was just shown to sell.

We share the observation of not providing accurate information.

Providing monitoring services for a technology that is considered "obsolete" simply doesn't cover the customer requests.

The move to reactive applications as substitute for Traditional apps left performance monitoring  to not-covered.

A clear how-to could help.

Stating a performance monitoring feature as an out of the box offered one, simply is no longer true.
