Would be a great feature if we could submit binaries with ajax. It's something that we struggle with often.

There are things like https://www.outsystems.com/forge/component-overview/352/file-upload but would be nice to be supported out-of-the-box

That is indeed a good idea. We don't have short term plans for it (in fact we are currently working on a way for new web  apps not to need ajax)  but we'll keep an eye on this so we may implement it in the future. In the meantime the forge component might help.
