I would like to have the ability to work off line with out having to upload the file for Intellectual Property.  In doing this I would run off of my local community edition, but later be able to change the server back to the development server when I have a connection again.
On the "IPP" part:

What I would like to see is the ability to download an espace from a (licensed) server with the ability to disable IPP.

The idea is, if you have access to the server, you have the IPP rights.

If you have those rights/access already, it seems pointless having to upload the espace to outsystems first.

I'm at the ODC right now and the tech guys I talked with also point to the licensing authentication as the reason for that. I'm pretty sure there can be a work around for this authentication. I would really like to work on my OutSystems projects when I don't have an internet connection.

We should have offline version to develop the app. Some times while connecting to browser we might face internal error. If we have offline version then that would be nice to practice for beginner as well everyone.

Hi,

there should be offline capability of developing the applications. Right now the entire development is dependent on internet to connect to server and then work on.

There should be publish which basically deploys the application on the standalone machines. In this covid pandemic, many areas are having issues with internet connectivity due to which the work is getting impacted. Even, if the server is down due to internet glitches, the developer is not able to publish the work. So, just an idea with which he/she can publish the code in local environment/machine.

I guess you can decide what data you want to be available in offline mode, architecture does support that.

Ability to develop and test a web application without publishing it in the server. Offline development is good for developer that has limited or unstable internet connection

Hi,

We all know Outsystems plateform i.e. service studio is depend on internet to create & test applications. I have an idea this is very powerful tool in the market, we need to plan something to launch offline model where developers can work offline and test it then they can publish anything when they want like other IDE i.e. VS, Eclipse etc.

Thanks,

Rajat Agrawal

Hello Rajat,

Thanks a lot for your idea! Currently we don't have short-term plans to do this but I'll keep the idea to be re-considered in the future.

Cheers,

Hi Rajat,

If you don't want to publish your changes, you can still save it locally just press Ctrl+S.

To test it locally how would you connect to the database?

Regards,

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

I agree with you, that's why this Idea come to in my mind if we can provide something in offline version that developers can work on code and access database locally then it is big add on to OS product and community.

Thanks,

Rajat Agrawal
