Perhaps you already know this but you can already do this with a few more clicks;

1. Double-click on the "Data Type" field (the left part of the table, not the selected data type field)

2. The following screen appears;

3. Click on the Data Type name (Text in this case)

4. The following screen appears;

In here you have a search field where your can filter the data types. I use this a lot but I also upped this idea because I want that search in the Data Type dropdown box. That would be much easier.

Thanks for your Upped :) but the example you have shown above is choosing the data type of input parameter or local variable not the data type of entity attribute.

 I know that option is available but i am talking about searching the data type for attribute of entity.

Please refer my screen shot below:

Even if you click on the left hand side of data type no pop up will open for search.

I know this is not a good practice to keep 100 of tables in single module but in order to design the data model for reference, we used to search those entity attributes for relationship purpose only.
