Hi,

Is there any way Outsystems can add the email feature in Reactive Web without the use of the current workaround by using the action made from a  traditional web app

Must have feature indeed. I believe it might be already in the pipeline.

This is already on the roadmap for Reactive web apps, mention in several OutSystems meetups.

Hi,

Currently it is not possible to send mail from reactive applications. The workaround is to create a traditional web application and send the email from there, wrap it around in a server action and call this action from your reactive web application.


Please make it possible to do this from a reactive application directly so there is no need anymore to make a separate traditional web application.

I didn't know that it is possible from traditional web app, if it is then it needs to be added in reactive also.

Thank you, that is a great idea. It's on our backlog and we expect to deliver it next year, but we're still not really sure when we can deliver it.

Emails are so basic and must have. I do agree that there is workaround as explained by Bas, however it should be functions away in stead of carrying an additional web app.

This idea is already communicated for long time to be worked on by OutSystems, and it will become avaialabe this year. Furthermore the idea it already exists since 2020 so I will merge yours.

With the release of Platform Server - 11.12.0, you’ll now be able to activate the Technical Preview feature Emails in Mobile and Reactive Web Apps.

We will be tackling Emails on the context of Reactive Web Apps and our main focus will be feature parity with Traditional Web. It's likely that Mobile Apps will also benefit from this feature at the same time or shortly after. We will make sure to share news as soon as we can.
