Access Executed SQL from queries/aggregates
Created on 20 Jun 2017
Bruno Lourenço
16
Sometimes we need to log the executed sql of some queries, or at debug time we need to check what was really sent to the DB. It would be nice that the queries\aggregates would have an extra output with that value. Instead of only List and Count, we would have List, Count and ExecutedSQL.

Prevent multiple submissions

Similar to how extensions like "prevent spam clicks" work, having a built-in protection against a multiple click submission with JS or server-side exceptions. A simple thing like a boolean option to lock the button/link after the first click/submission.This would be very welcome in things like forms and other types of data submission.

Translation - Possibility to use Google Translate suggestions
Created on 25 Oct 2020

Some website builders have a cool feature of allowing the developer to pick a translation suggested by Google. It would be a nice booster on the translating process if this feature was in place.Below follows a screenshot of this feature possibility in Wix, one of the website builders I was referring to:Best regards,João

Hide applications in Service Studio
Created on 20 May 2021

Hi,Many times we have dificulties to find our applications in service studio and we can have something like "hide application" and the option to show them or not. In my case, I can say that most of the applications that I want to hide are tols like Discovery, Architecture Dashboard, and stuff like that. I remember the "hide warnings" in True change as an example to this.Best regards,Ricardo M Pereira

Improve Deployment Process | First check availability of target environment
Created on 03 Jan 2022
Nordin Ahdi
10
IntroductionCurrently when we deploy an application in Lifetime the staging process looks like this: ProblemBut here's a scenario were something is wrong in the Target environment (e.g. Deployment Service is not running)If this is the case Lifetime will only know about it after the first four steps of the staging process have finished.Depending on the size of the Deployment Plan, the amount of dependencies and whether there are BPT processes involved that require impact analysis, these first four steps could take up some time to finish. The fact that there is a problem in the target environment will only come up in the second stage of the process when 'Distributing compiled applications to front-end servers', which in this case will cause the deployment to fail:Now we need to fix the problem in the target environment and then start the deployment process all over again! Proposed solutionThe first step of the staging process should be to check if the Target environment is available and if the Deployment Service is running (check other services as well) and ready to receive the applications. If there is a problem in the target environment, abort the staging process (e.g. don't start 'retrieving applications from version control') and inform the user of the unavailability of the target environment. This way a lot of time can be saved and since deployments are being done on the regular, Lifetime will notify IT users of possible issues within the infrastructure faster.

Improve Merge
Created on 14 Sep 2011

Most of times, the merge tool should be automatic... If one developer has change one screen and other developer a diferent one, why should i have to merge the two versions? Anyone familiar with CVS, SVN, GIT, etc will agree with me!

Service Center | Move selection of applications/modules to different deployment zone
Created on 09 Jan 2020
Nordin Ahdi
14
IntroductionIn OutSystems Platform 10 it was only possible to configure the deployment zone for a single module in Service Center by changing it in the Operation tab of that module. In Outsystems Platform 11 you can do the same and in addition to that, you can also change the deployment zone for an application by changing it in the Operation tab of that application. Use caseWhen you perform a clean Platform Server installation (like we did at a client of ours), the Global zone is by default set up and all the modules are associated with that zone. So now, you would want to create your additional zones (f.e. an Internal zone and a Public zone). Now you have to go through all your applications/modules and change the zone configuration one by one. IdeaI would like to see a feature in Service Center where I could select a set of applications and also a possibility where I can select a set of modules and change their deployment zone simultaneously by performing a single configuration change.

[Reactive] Input and textArea Onchange delay milliseconds
Created on 14 Dec 2020
Alvaro Pinilla Pedroche

It would be a great idea a built-in behaviour to set the delay of milliseconds to throw the OnChange event in an Input or TextArea. In reactive and mobile the event is thrown per each letter typing. In most cases you don't want to call server in each letter. In traditional we have 800 ms delay before call the event.

Add build-in tool in service studio to import icon set instead of using external tools like icomoon
Created on 09 Nov 2025
Mustafa Emad Shaker
2
Every time I want to add custom icons to fit my project theme, I need to use external tools like icomoon to define the icons and create font file, then reference this font file in my theme, and add classes to the icon so it show the custom icon, instead of OutSystems' one. It would be much easier to import icons using service studio, and selecting the icon form the "Pick an icon" menu embedded in each icon widget. I am not saying it should be the same widget, but could be an alternate widget made specifically for importing custom icon.
