Warning about possible vulnerable components based on CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures)
Created on 30 Dec 2023
Lucas Soares
13
Based on the public CVE database, OutSystems Estudio could notify you when a component, library or other external item has a public CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures). Example: I found a javascript library that allows you to upload and manipulate images, and I implemented it in my OutSystems application. But I didn't know that this library in the version I implemented was vulnerable, publicly known. So, just as the studio today shows some warnings during development, it would be interesting now that it uses AI, for the platform to somehow visually show that the version of the library I implemented has a CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures). This would increase the level of security and help developers or projects that do not have a security team to validate or do pentesting. Imagine, a warning appears in the studio: Component XYZ has a CVE registered in this version. :)

The personal environment become unavailable if the storage reaches 100%. So many people are not aware of this. So if we can trigger a warning at around 95% storage space used and once its reach 100% you will not be allowed to access the environment. Please take necessary steps. So user will never run out of this issue.

Invite Eduardo Rêgo to inspire Sunday morning learnings

First of all I want to thanks everyone who is creating this videos for the learning section and the effort they put on it, I would never be a good developer without their help. Very good job and thanks again! But it would be interesting if we could have a new set of videos (special edition) with the voice of Eduardo Rêgo as narrator. I think it could be a good way to watch a vídeo and an entertaining voice at the same time, maybe even easier to remember thinks for certifications. Here is a link you can check and see if you like.

Relax restrictions for HTML Element widget
Created on 05 Sep 2024
Tiago Ribeiro
9
The HTML Element widget is, from what I can tell, limited to a set of tags that OutSystems defined. As new HTML tags are created, and with the surge of technologies like Web Components (that use custom HTML tags), this becomes a limitation and we have to implement workarounds to make a simple thing work. Can this rule be relaxed or even completely removed?

AI Code Summarizer
Created on 26 Mar 2025
Jay Parnau
7
Premise: When projects and team dynamics become complex, people end up having to maintain reverse-engineer code, often with little or no documentation. Idea: Any action in ODC Studio would have an "AI Summarize" option. This will do an AI Analysis of the action, including analysis of all of the consumers of that action, and produce a human-readable summary of the action. Target: This could transform the 'maintainability' category of AI Mentor into a mostly automated feature.

Certification cost as per Country/geography
Created on 01 Oct 2020

An idea based on the discussion here: https://www.outsystems.com/forums/discussion/65118/what-are-the-relative-weights-of-certification-exam-prices/The certification cost is not encouraging for developers from countries with lower minimum wage. For instance in India. https://take-profit.org/en/statistics/wages/india/As per this data, the MW for India comes out to be 115 USD which obviously is on the lower side. But I have seen entry-level developers work at 200USD. So certification cost is somehow not very encouraging in our geography too.Even Microsoft does this. For instance, a certification that costs 165 USD in the USA is available for 4800INR in India equivalent to 65USD. The same certification is also available for 100USD in Brazil. It will be very encouraging if we have some way to come up with Geography specific pricing based on the minimum or average wages.Cheers,Tushar

Ability to export an object
Created on 02 Feb
Raja Ramasamy
1
We have reasonably big (medium-big) sized OutSystems projects. We have number of objects (screens, blocks, server actions, entities, etc) in these projects. These projects go through multiple phases of constant development. There are multiple developers work on these projects, and many of the developers are hired when needed. These new developers start with very minimal knowledge about the application. These developers usually work on shared components. So, it would be easier, if there is an EXPORT option that helps us export the specific screen/server action/block that they work on. Before they start the development, they can export the component/object. This EXPORT-ed file/source can be used as a backup. So if we need to restore we can easily restore.

Timepicker need to change its locale when site locale changes
Created on 08 Jan
Mustafa Emad Shaker
1
When the timepicker renders, it inherits the current page locale. However, when the locale changes, the timepicker does not change its locale with it. But keep the locale it has when it rendered. Here are some examples: English to Arabic The screen renders with English locale. The timepicker uses 12-hour clock symbols of "AM" & "PM". But when the locale changes to Arabic, instead of using "ص" & "م", it is still using "AM" & "PM". Arabic to English Same issue can be detected in the reverse scenario. The timepicker keeps using "ص" & "م", as it rendered when the locale of the page was Arabic.

Allow selections to be dropped into flow if touching node has missing in and out connection
Created on 30 Apr 2018

Easier to use pictures for this one :)Trying to drag-drop like this:...will not incorporate it into the flow. You must delete the connection and reconnect it.Totally understandable, since you have that potential ambiguity of multiple nodes touching, but it would still be nice to have, since it crops up a fair bit from copying For Each and If nodes :)
