Refresh References

Be able to refresh a Reference by right-clicking an option menu over an existing reference in ESpace explorer reference's folder. In the References' popup screen it would be nice to have a button/link to refresh the existing Espaces or Extensions without having close e reopen the popup References' screen.

Improve Date Picker Widget Initialization Behavior in Dev Tools Mobile Simulation
Created on 10 May 2025
Senthil Nathan A
4
Idea Summary: Enhance the resilience of the OutSystems UI Date Picker widget initialization, specifically when testing mobile views using Chrome DevTools' device simulation. Currently, the widget does not always reinitialize properly after a hard refresh in this environment, potentially leading to confusion during development and QA. Issue Description: When simulating a mobile device in Chrome DevTools and performing a hard refresh, the Date Picker widget occasionally fails to initialize correctly. This behavior appears to be due to: JavaScript/UI libraries not consistently re-triggering widget initialization in simulated environments. The use of dynamic selectors (e.g., .active, input.form-control.OSFillParent.input.active ) in the widget’s initialization logic, which may not be immediately available after a refresh. Key Observations: On actual mobile devices (e.g., Safari on iOS), the widget functions reliably, even after refreshes. In Chrome DevTools mobile simulation, the widget behaves correctly on initial load or when toggling to mobile view but fails after a hard refresh. Impact: Creates confusion during testing and QA phases. May mislead developers into thinking the widget is broken. Increases friction when debugging using browser tools. Suggested Improvements: Make initialization more robust in simulated environments. Avoid dependency on dynamic class-based selectors that may not exist immediately on load. Implement fallback logic or explicit reinitialization to handle DevTools mobile simulation scenarios. Thanks, Senthil

Site properties shared between multiple eSpaces

It would be useful to have, what we could call, site properties that would be shared between multiple eSpaces. This would avoid the replication of site properties with the same value over multiple eSpaces.

Production Safety Guard
Created on 15 Dec 2025

This idea suggests adding a production-level safety guard that prevents critical operations such as delete, update, or bulk actions unless explicit approval conditions are met. In Production, sensitive actions would require admin approval, a justification message, or a time-bound authorization, ensuring that risky operations are intentional and traceable. This feature would greatly reduce accidental data loss and human errors while adding an extra governance layer for enterprise applications.

Native support for real-time data applications via websocket

Native support for websocket (socket.io) to enable companies to build real-time data applications https://socket.io/ Note : We could setup node.js and socket.io on our own then integrate this with outsystems apps with but not everyone is going to know how to do that!

Copy paste widget in exact position
Created on 26 Mar 2025

I often face this issue that I copy any widget from same or other action and wanted to use that somewhere but when I paste it, it pasted somewhere else in the action like I'm in bottom of action but it will be pasted in top/middle. Why it cannot be pasted in the place where my mouse cursor is or where I right click? If its difficult so it can be implemented to paste where user click. I believe, if service studio can offer widget in exact place on drag and drop, a copy paste can also be implemented.

Service Studio - Processes - Add retry all Option

Hello Community,My team and I developed a BPT process and executed a load test. As a result, We triggered the circuit breaker and had some unexpected errors and, the result has more than 100 processes that were "Active with Errors".After having to open over 100 new tabs to click the "Retry" button, the idea came to my mind of having an option that would allow users to perform the retry and skip option in bulk for a process.I hope to hear some feedback from the community.

COVID-19 :: Psychological Support
Created on 31 Mar 2020
Tércio Soares

Ultimate Goal :To provide free and universally the necessary psychological support in this scenario of pandemic and isolation, understanding each individual in the balance of her/his mental functions, by professionals or university students in the field of psychology. Context :Due to Covid-19 these are times of prophylactic isolation and quarantine at home for many of the Portuguese people. This social distance, the lack of contact with family, friends and the community, led to a change in everyone's routines and daily lives. These social and behavioral changes can also have an impact on everyone's mental health. To help maintain everyone's wellbeing, psychological counseling needs to be much more present than it has been up to now.In fact, there are a number of ongoing initiatives, which have been born out of group movements on social networks, which aim to fill this need and still support those who need it most, as examples are: https://www.instagram.com/adistanciadeumclique/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/2524269891155335/However, there is the fear associated with these groups due to lack of certainty in the veracity of the information conveyed, as well as the uncertainty of the professional skills of those who provide these services or informations. On the other hand, official communication channels for this purpose have already been created (or are being created), however mostly by telephone, so the interaction ways are more reduced and impersonal; examples: https://www.rtp.pt/noticias/pais/linha-sns-24-vai-ter-servico-de-apoio-psicologico_a1212418In other cases, access to these resources is restricted to a community only, and access to this cannot be democratized; examples: https://www.p5.pt/covid-19/psicologico/ https://www.psicologia.ulisboa.pt/linha-apoio-psicologico/This idea is being shared between me and Professor Jácome Cunha of the University of Minho, in order to bring the help of qualified people to the whole community. Professor Jácome is already in contact with the Psychology Association of the University of Minho as well as the “Ordem dos Psicólogos”.It should also be noted that Professor Jácome has already led a curricular unit in which the OutSystems platform was used for the development of projects in partnership with OutSystems, thus being aware how much this technology could accelerate the development and arrival of this aid to the community. Proposal :Development of a mobile application in which professionals or university students in the field of psychology can provide psychological support to those who need it. In this application people get centralized overview of the professionals that are willing to freely help them. The application must allow:each professional must be able to:register in the applicationenumerate schedules and availability to provide helptake and send help notes to the person being helpedeach person needing help:schedule a contact with a qualified personmake a video call with the qualified person Risks :There is a risk of a shortage of specialized know-how available on the platform, so the mitigation of this risk is already being put into practice by the contacts of Professor Jácome Cunha with Ordem do Psicólogos and Psychology Association of the University of Minho.

Earn points (score) by submitting security reports to OutSystems
Created on 05 Jan 2024

When we publish a component, we earn points on our profile, when we answer a question on the forum, we earn points on our profile, when we watch training, we earn points on our profile. But, when we send a security report through the OutSystems page, we do not earn points on our profile. Just like answering a question on the forum, or publishing a component, people who analyze and send security reports to OutSystems are also contributing to a safer product. Analyzing, detailing, writing and sending a security report to OutSystems, in my opinion, should be scored, as the professional has an account in the community and is helping to keep the product or website safer .

We should have an option to empty the Object
Created on 20 Jun 2024

Hi Community, We may end up creating large objects based on our business requirements and there are instances where we need to empty the object or part of it in our logic, as of now we are explicitly assigning "" values by expanding each and every variable from that object, so it would be great if there's a built in function kind of thing to empty the same object or part of it like in traditional coding. Regards, Mahesh
