Idea:We can design a mobile app for our community forums

Hello,

Our community forum has become a good platform where lots of problems are getting solved every day. Almost every day I spend some time to look for an activity happening around the forum, and I literally learned so many things from reading it, replying it.

However, I was wondering if we can have mobile app design for our community forum. I know we can access our forum site on Mobile since it’s responsive, But using a mobile app is different and quite handy. I hope you will with agree with me.

Not sure if this request already raised, but is there a plan to create a Mobile App for OutSystems Forum? It will be really helpful to review and provide comments even when you are not in front of your PC.

You mean just use it like a web application on mobile browser right?

I was thinking more towards a native mobile app.

Every website can work on mobile in the browser, then there is no need of Mobile Apps. But still people go specifically for Mobile Native Apps, that's the answers.

Hi people, 

I think it would be a good idea and since we are also app producers, why not develop a mobile application for the forum? I think it would be useful to have a mobile application that allows reading post, reply, etc. We could start with the forum and then extend it to other features. Nowadays I have to access the browser on the mobile phone if I want to do something.

Mobile applications for to access community forum/ideas etc. would be helpful I guess.  Current if someone comments on a post of mine , I receive  an email notifying that. Then I have to click on the link and then login to reply. A mobile app would just make life easier in this scenario I believe.

If not I think it will be handy to have a mobile app which helps users to be more active in community and forums.

It will be very beneficial to avail Outsystems community App, it will be lot faster to access the community area, Learn section, get Notifications if get solution etc.

Site loads very slowly on mobile phone so it will be plus to have OS App.

Native mobile application for Android and IOS to manage and view users outsystems account.


Covering features like 

  1. Jobs
  2. Forums 
  3. Ideas
  4. members
  5. badges


A Native mobile application can be a simple go to solution for all of users queries related to his/her outsystems acount. 

A reactive application works but features like notifications and realtime updates on technology would be something amazing to have.

Outsystems could consider creating a mobile application Forums for Android and iOS users, with push notifications so that the users could ask or answer queries from other users on the go.

Hi folks,

I think there should be a mobile app (android and iOS) for the Outsystems Community.

With the app, we would be able to access community discussions (questions, answers, new threads) from anywhere.

I hope there should be one App for the forum Like Facebook. So we can get anytime active on a forum to help people and also they can able to get the solution in their Mobile and can able to check it then and there.

A mobile (android and iOS) application for Forums.

  • This will enhance the accessibility to go over the posts and to answer questions on the go.
  • Personalized Notifications for the posts posted, liked or commented (instead of email which is current scenario) will help in keeping the post live and collaborative resulting in more engagement.

    What more can be done? 
    Learning in the app, Offline saving of course videos, curating relevant documentation etc., we can even introduce Ideas section on the app (easy scrolling through the content getting new ideas and more visibility to OutSystems world)

    This has endless possibilities, but yeah, the main idea is for Forums

I would suggest a Mobile interface Application to handle Out Systems Community.  So that we can more easily access the application even we are on mobile and can also be more active with the forum.

It will be more flexible and manageable once profile over mobile and also participating actively with the community activities.

Did you ever try to use the community pages on your mobile browser?. It works great most of my OutSystems moderator work info via my mobile.

Hi @Daniël Kuhlmann thankyou for the reply . 

Yes i have an exposer with the community pages on mobile browser and yes it works great!.

But that we are accessing on browser, my suggestion was to have an application for the community pages, that we can install and use from our mobiles. Instead of using the browser we can have our own app for the community. We can update our profiles comments , have notification etc handy.

There should be Mobile Application for Forums Questions and Answers. 
To view it we have to log in to the community on the web and go through it.

i upvoted this idea.  

I would be happy to loing and use the website of the forum on my mobile (and I often do) but it is such a bad user experience right now.

The OutSystems Community is already available on the web, but having a mobile app version would make it much more convenient and engaging for users.

The app could allow us to:

  • Browse forums, post replies, and share ideas easily
  • Edit Personal Profile
  • Receive notifications directly within the app instead of by email

While the web experience works well, a dedicated mobile app would help community members stay connected and engaged anywhere, without relying on email updates in case of replies and so on.
