Details

The VPN Detect Reactive is a lightweight, pure client-side security component for OutSystems Reactive Web applications. It helps you detect if a user is attempting to mask their true location or device identity by hiding behind a VPN, Proxy, or by spoofing their GPS coordinates.

Geo/IP Distance Calculation: Compares the user's physical HTML5 GPS location against the location of their IP address. If the distance exceeds a certain threshold (e.g., 500km), it flags the session as suspicious.
Timezone Mismatch: Checks the hardware timezone of the user's browser against the timezone of their IP address.
Canvas Fingerprinting: Generates a lightweight Canvas HTML5 fingerprint to help you identify unique devices even in incognito mode.
Strong Check (Risk Score): Combines all checks into a single action, returning an easy-to-read LOW, MEDIUM, or HIGH risk level and a score from 0-100.
Purely Reactive: Zero server-side dependencies. Executes seamlessly in the client browser.
