LogInsight

Details
Monitoring dashboard for O11 built from your platform logs: app health, errors, usage, timers, deployments and availability.

Service Center shows raw log rows, one tab at a time, with no trends and no grouping. LogInsight turns those same logs into one dashboard that answers everyday questions.

  • Is anything broken right now? App health lists only the Critical and Degraded apps, with error rate, p95 response time, integration failures and failed timer runs.
  • Is it worse than last week? Every headline number is compared with the same period last week.
  • Which errors matter? Errors are grouped by normalised message, tagged New or Regression, and each group has a per-day history.
  • Did the last deploy make it worse? Deployment impact compares the hour before each publish with the hour after it.
  • Are we meeting our SLO? Monthly availability per app, against a target you set.
  • What is running in the background? Timers, slow SQL, and the slowest extensions and integrations.
  • Who uses what? Daily active users, the most used screens, and apps nobody has opened for 30 days. Counts only, with no tracking of individuals.

How it works

  • A background timer rolls the platform logs up into small per-minute summaries every 15 minutes. Screens read only these summaries, so they stay fast on busy environments.
  • No external services, no agents, and no data leaves your environment.
  • Two roles: LogInsight_Viewer for aggregates, and LogInsight_Admin, which adds Live tail, Settings and Run rollup now. Every action checks its role on the server.
  • Multi-tenant aware: Viewers see only their own tenant.
  • Thresholds, retention and the SLO target are settings, not code.
  • Built with OutSystems UI and OutSystems Charts, with a light/dark theme switch, filters kept in the URL so views can be shared, and an option to hide OutSystems platform apps such as Service Center, LifeTime and OutSystems UI.
Release notes (1.1.3)

LogInsight 1.1 adds email notifications: issue alerts and a daily report, each sent only for the apps a person cares about.

New

  • Issue alerts. After every rollup, LogInsight checks the last 15 minutes of each app and raises an alert when:
    • the error rate, response time (p95) or integration failure rate goes above its limit;
    • a timer run fails;
    • a new error happens several times, an old error comes back, or an error spikes well above its normal daily rate.
  • One email per person lists all of their new issues, most serious first. When an issue clears, a short Recovered email follows. Each problem is sent once and then held back for a cooldown, so inboxes do not fill up.
  • Daily report. One email per person each morning, covering yesterday for all of their apps: headline numbers compared with the day before, each app's status compared with the same day last week, top errors, slow integrations, failed timers, publishes and month-to-date availability. Apps with no user requests are listed together on one line.
  • Notifications page. Every Viewer and Admin chooses whether they get alerts, the daily report or both, for all apps or only the apps they pick. Send my report now sends your report straight away.
  • Subscribers page for admins. Admins set up notifications for other users, for example User1 gets App1 and App2, User2 gets App2 only.
  • Delivery log in Settings. Every email sent or attempted, with its status: Queued, Failed (retried up to 3 times) or Skipped (with the reason, for example no email address).
  • Send pending emails now button in Settings, for testing without waiting for the timer.
  • Alerts panel on the Dashboard, listing alerts raised in the selected period with their status.
  • Master switch. Notifications stay off until an admin turns them on, so upgrading changes nothing until you are ready.

Changed

  • New settings: NotificationsEnabled, DailyReportHour, AlertMinRequests, NewErrorMinCount, ErrorSpikeFactor and AppBaseUrl.
  • AlertCooldownMinutes is now used for alerts.
  • The AlertRecipients setting is removed. Recipients are now the subscribed users, using the email address on their user record.
  • Settings now checks True/False and web address values when you save.
  • Apps with errors but very little traffic now show as Degraded instead of Healthy.
  • Error rates are capped at 100%.
  • The Notifications and Settings menu links appear straight away.

Upgrade notes

  • Email sending needs SMTP set up in Service Center (Administration, Email). Without it, alerts are still recorded and shown on the Dashboard, but nothing is emailed.
  • Set the LI_SendNotificationEmails timer (LogInsight module) to run every 15 minutes in Service Center.
  • Set the EmailFrom site property of the LogInsight module to your sender address.
  • Turn on NotificationsEnabled in Settings, then subscribe users on the Notifications page or the Subscribers page.
