Tech Lead Cert

I've noticed there are many developers with the Tech Lead cert that maybe dont meet the "Requirements" to be a tech lead. After looking over the cert content, it seems like it would be a valuable acheivement to have, regardless of seniority level.

Many companies require knowledge of Agile methods and team work oriented thinking.

Would it be worth it to consider purusing the Tech Lead cert sooner rather than later?

Hi Hunter,

I think that what really matters increases your skills instead of just focusing on certificates. While the certificates can add value, they must complement the real experience and hand learning, not replace them.

If you find Take Tech Lead Certificate Content useful, it's a good idea to study it on your own! Leadership and agile knowledge are valuable, but at the end of the day, practical competence and problem -solving skills will have a major impact on your career.

Continue to push against your expert certificate, and as you grow, you will naturally develop the skills required for the role of the leadership. Certifications can always come later if they align with your goals.

Wishing you all the best on your journey

Thanks,

My answer is No. Tech Lead cert worth nothing.

Let use that 200$ for 2 specialist cert and get the Expert Reactive asap.

Thank you for the advice!

I'm currently working my way to the Expert cert as fast as I can while retaining all the information.

I figured I wouldn't try for the Tech Lead cert until after I got the Expert cert anyway.

I guess I was more so interested in studying for it because the information seems valuable, but I could always do that without going for the certification itself.

Don't do certifications just for doing them. Do what is relevant for your current/desired role.

Unless you will be leading people at your first job, you should not do that one.

If you do Architecture and Delivery you will have Tech Lead skills that are meaningful for any developer. So I second the "do two specializations instead".

Hello my friends

I have got all certifications available, and I found the topics of tech lead cert very importante for trouble shooting, many day a day issues may be easily treated using Service Center, LifeTime, AIMentor, and even the (system) DB. Most of these topics you dive in when you are studying for the tech lead cert, and don’t do so for the dev espec.

Wish I could help, and the best to you all.
