Hello all,
I've successfully completed the Associate Developer (ODC) and Mobile Developer Specialist certifications. I'm now looking to take my next certification and would love to hear your recommendations.
Which certification would be the best choice to pursue next? Your insights and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.Warm regards,
Dinesh M
Architecture is core, I think your should grab this one. If you forcus on ODC, let's study to get ODC architecture specialist.
Thanks for sharing @Kiet Phan
Hello.
Since you are focusing in ODC, I think Web Developer Specialization should be your priority. It is a series of best practices that all developers should follow. And the course I linked is very easy to follow.
After that, because you have a background in IT, Security Specialization should be your priority as not many will want to look at that scary topic (it will be launched this year).
Architecture is too advanced. You can study it, but there is no point in doing the exam in your first year of experience as no one expects you to have solid knowledge of architecture.
(by the way, you should make your certifications public in your profile)
Hi @Nuno Reis ,
Thanks for sharing! I’ll go with the Web Developer Specialization first and make my certifications public. Once the Security Specialization is launched, I’ll also pursue that.
Hello @Dinesh Murugan,
As mentioned, I believe the Architecture certification is one of the most important, mainly due to the concepts of creating applications with best practices and avoiding simple errors that can lead to rework.
However, I believe it depends a lot on your line of work, on what you feel most comfortable with. If you are good at front-end, you can pursue this Front-end Specialist certification. If you have a more leadership profile, you can pursue the Tech Lead and Architecture certification (although the Tech Lead is related to the O11 version, it opens up a lot of possibilities for excellent leadership in OutSystems projects as a whole).
Take the opportunity to recommend @Nuno Reis, make your certifications public. This way, it will be easier for us to help you find the best path and you will also gain more visibility in the corporate world.
Hi @Edson Marques ,
Thanks for your recommendations! Architecture is definitely crucial, but I’ll take time to study it before attempting the exam. Front-End Specialist also interests me, given my experience. I’ve already made my certifications public for better visibility.
Hi @Dinesh Murugan ,
As mentioned in previous replies, the next certification really depends on your role in the company and the direction you want to take in your career. I checked one of the projects you listed and noticed it’s mostly backend-focused. Given that, and assuming you currently have experts handling architecture, security, platform, and DevOps, I’d say your main focus is application development.
With that in mind, I’d recommend the Web Developer Specialist as your next certification goal.
I also saw that you recently took the Mobile Specialization exam, great job on that! I'd suggest taking a bit of time to absorb everything you’ve learned before jumping into the next certification. It’s really important to focus on building solid knowledge and hands-on experience. Rather than rushing through certifications, take the time to build a strong foundation in each area. Follow the guided paths and courses, apply what you learn in real projects, and then go for the exam when you're ready.
That approach will serve you much better in the long run.
Hi @Mihai Melencu ,
Thanks for your thoughtful advice! Web Developer Specialist seems like a great next step, considering my focus on application development. I’ll also take time to reinforce my knowledge before moving forward.
