Hi All,
We have O11 depolyed in Outsystems managed cloud environment and we connected the Outsystems VPC to our AWS transit gateway via VPC attachment to establise the connectivity to our AWS environment.
We have APIs and websites hosted in the Outsystems environment.
There is a requirement to make the APIs on Outsystems accessible by services hosted on our AWS via the transit gateway instead of via the Internet. But the access to the websites should keep flowing via the Internet.
I found some documents talking about how to restrict access to an internal network:
https://success.outsystems.com/documentation/11/security/restrict_access_to_an_internal_network/
https://success.outsystems.com/documentation/11/security/configure_an_internal_network/
But not sure how it works from traffic flow perspective? Based on my uderstanding, the traffic to the APIs should go via Internet as long as the URLs of the APIs are based on the DNS domain xxxxx.outsystemsenterprise.com?
Is it possible to configure the platform to meet the requirements?
Cheers
Charles
Hi Charles,
The links you shared refer to configure an internal network in OutSystems, this feature is only available for self-managed environments, so not applicable in your case.
You can consider to setup an AWS Direct Connect, this establishes a dedicated network connection. It offers a dedicated physical line from your on prem infrastructure to the outsystems cloud infrastructure and bypasses the public internet. It also will result in lower latency, higher throughput, and a more consistent performance. Of course, this comes with additional costs as you can imagine.
For more information see: AWS Direct Connect on OutSystems Cloud - OutSystems 11 Documentation
You can also open a support case with OutSystems for more detailed guidance [Opening a support case with OutSystems].

Daniel
Hi Daniel,
Many thanks for your response.
The connectivity between our AWS envrionment and Outsystem managed cloud network has been established via the VPC attachement throught a AWS transit gateway.
At this stage, all the access to APIs/Websites hosted in OutsSyetems is from the Internet.
We have the requirements to seperate the paths for the access:
Just wondering if it is possible? How to do it if it is possible?
CheersCharles
