where to start from?
Question
Hi all,

I am new here and I don't know where to start from. Can anyone tell me where I can get tutorials?
I need to know how to install and configure the server, build a first app and publish it.

After you finish the trial you can set up your own free community edition server that you can find here: https://www.outsystems.com/community/download/

Hello Mize, and welcome to the Community :)

The first place you should go to is the Download Page where you can download your own personal Community Edition of the OutSystems Platform.

You can then head on to the OutSystems Academy for some excelent video tutorials on how to use your OutSystems Platform.

If you have any questions during this process, don't hesitate to place them here on the forums and I'm sure our community will do its best to help you.

hi once again,

I've downloaded the setup and began installing it, but had some errors.

as you can see in the attachement. Is this because I'm using windows 8 or something else?

Hi,

I'm guessing it'll be Windows 8 which uses IIS 8. These are the requirements from the download link:

System requirements

Windows XP Professional (SP2 or later), Windows Server 2003 (SP1 or later) or 2008 R2, Windows Vista or 7 (Home Premium, Business, Enterprise or Ultimate), Internet Explorer 7, 8 or 9, Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 (will be installed by the platform if not present) and an Intel dual core processor, 500 Mb of disk space and 2 Gb of RAM.

So that's probably your problem!

Hello again Mizé,

As Richard said we are currently not supporting the installation of the community edition in windows 8.
However, we have some guidelines that might help you in the process.
Check out this topic.

Hi guys,

I solved my problem by dropping the W8 installation. I'm using w. server 2008 now. Thanks for your help. Now I can start watching the academy videos and begin learning the wonders of the tool.
