Is outsystems sentry really required, whenever we mention a word 'security' outsystems team always redirect us to sentry topic and suggesting it.
That means O11 is not completely secured?
Is customer/client opting sentry in the current markets or environments? are clients really getting from sentry for the money they are paying extra for sentry ?
Is there any chance you may know the percentage of outsystems 11 envrionments with sentry and without sentry.
Just want to know how many clients are using.
Hello.
Is Sentry really required? Is O11 not completely secure?
Forget OutSystems for a while. To host a site you just need an SSL certificate. If your site has sensitive information, you should add a firewall. If you have many accesses, you will add a load balancer...
Everything is about layers. Security is where it makes more sense.
Like it is stated in the documentation they surely sent you:
The OutSystems platform has extensive security built-in to protect the entire app lifecycle. With the addition of the OutSystems Sentry, it sets a higher standard for low-code, thanks to security features specifically designed for the enterprise and those organizations working with sensitive, core, and customer data.
Sentry is almost mandatory in terms of security, that is why it is suggested so many times.
Are clients choosing Sentry in the current markets or environments?
Yes, many. Basically all big companies. And that line is suggested a few times at license negotiation, but clients usually dismiss and later realize they need it.
Are they getting their value for money?
Security is never worth how much you pay. Until you realize how much you lost for not paying for it.
Percentage of clients with Sentry?
Only OutSystems can answer that and they will not. From my experience, some companies don't use it, but any factory with over 10 developers had it. It was never a question.
