➡️ Action Required: ODC Applications Using .NET 6 External Libraries

Hi everyone,

As you may know, Microsoft officially ended support for .NET 6 in November 2024. While our ODC portal displays warnings to encourage migration, we want to ensure the community is aware of the upcoming deadline.

Starting October 1, 2025, ODC applications that continue to use external logic built with the .NET 6 runtime may experience runtime and publishing errors. This could directly impact the stability and correct functioning of your applications in production environments.

To avoid this disruption, please update all your ODC applications using .NET 6 external libraries by October 1, 2025.

What you need to do:

1. For your External Libraries using .NET 6:

  • Upgrade your external libraries to .NET 8. in the ODC Portal.
  • You can find detailed documentation and guidance for this upgrade here.

2. For your Applications or Libraries consuming .NET 6 External Logic (Custom Code):

  • First, update dependencies - Open your consumer application or library in ODC Studio and check for available updates for the external libraries you are using.
  • Then, publish with updates - Publish a new version of your application or library with the updated dependencies. Additionally, test the application after publishing to ensure everything works as expected.
  • Finally, deploy to production - Ensure that the new updated version is deployed to your production stage.
