DR Deployment with RO DB Replica Questions
Application Type
Traditional Web
Service Studio Version
11.55.45 (Build 64421)
Platform Version
11.36.0 (Build 45214)

Hello,

I am looking for guidance on deploying a DR zone with a pre replicated database. We have a deployment like figure 2. A geographical high availability configuration with an azure sql server in replica mode. We have the infra deployed, the database is replicating and on review of the deployment docs for 11.36 it doesnt explicitly cover the configuration tool steps for deploying with a database in RO mode. The doc assumes with a "new server new controller" selected that you will be doing a new database.

I assume the solution is to deploy platform 11.36 to the controller and servers as expected in a normal deploy but when it gets to configure you skip this step and only test the connection access for platform, cache, and session. Then you would register the DR env with lifetime and generate a key that can go through the normal licensing process.

Is the above educated guess the correct process for a RO db target on a DR / HA standup?

Thanks in advance and apologies if this needs more clarification.

OutSystems requires write access to the database at least once when running the Configuration Tool to complete platform setup. After the platform is successfully configured and registered, the database can then operate in read-only (replica) mode for DR purposes.
