Preparation Tips for OutSystems Web Developer Specialist (O11) Certification Exam

Hi Everyone,

I am preparing for the OutSystems Web Developer Specialist (O11) certification exam.

I am already following the recommended learning path and guided training materials. I would appreciate any additional preparation tips, study resources, practice questions, or advice from those who have recently passed the exam.

If there are any sample questions, mock tests, or other useful study materials available, please share them.

Thank you in advance for your help and guidance!

Hello Gagan,

Please, allow me to give some advice on how to prepare for the certification.

1. Sample Questions and Mock Tests.

It's hard to get them. Sometimes, a Training company has, but you need to do the training with then to have access.

BUT... And this is very important. NEVER use those as a study reference. Only use it to validate what you already know.

The questions will be different from the Certification (or the company is going against the IP of OutSystems). Also, people usually make mistakes in the certification because they "memorized" the questions and answers and this gives a confidence that is not based on knowledge.

2. Official Training & Online Training

If you can, do the Advanced Bootcamp.

In any case, check the materials related to the topics that will be present on the certification. Start by online trainings. Move to the Documentation. Take note of everything that is "new" for you, and do some research to see what other people have written about the topic. Read questions about those topics on the forum.

You will be building your knowledge. It will be useful for the certification, but it will also broad your vision about the technology.

3. Time

To properly study, you need time. If you are working full time, you need MORE time. But one thing about our memory is that it needs three things:

Repetition
Intervals
Sleep

So, concentrate all your study in a very short amount of time will be far less efficient than study for a longer period, revisiting topics from time to time, with plenty of time for you to rest (and sleep).

4. Practice

Practice is an important aspect of studying. Practice the topics. Do the online exercises. Test things.
The practice will help you understand and consolidate the theoretical knowledge you are putting together.

But don't rely only on practice nor only on reading. Both walk together.

5. At the Certification

I use a strategy for the certification.

a) I prefer doing it in the morning. The earlier the better. I am less tired after a good night of sleep than at the end of the day (but each person is different)

b) I read the question. I read all the answers. I chose one. 1-2 minutes top for that. If I am not 100% confident, I flag the question. I go doing this all the way to the last question.

c) After finishing the previous step, I do it again. I go over ALL the questions. Same process. Why? Because after having read ALL the questions and options, I may find that I understood something wrong. Or I may find an answer for something I wasn't sure. In this second passage, if I decide I am now 100% sure over a question that previously I wasn't sure, I remove the flag.

d) From now on, I'll look ONLY to the flagged questions. And always using no more than 2-3 minutes. If I pass through a question 2 or 3 times and didn't change my answer, I remove the flag.

e) The hard ones Will be answered, but I will have now time to think a bit more about them.

Conclusion

The online documentation and training is most likely enough for you to pass the certification, even if you don't get 100%, if you really try to understand any concept that is not clear, and memorize a bit about the options and configurations, the best practices and why they are best practices and what are the advantages and disadvantages, the patterns, etc.

But practicing and researching a bit (medium articles, linkedin articles, etc) will improve your chances.

Good luck!

Hi @Gagan Kumar Jaiswal ,

Since you have already completed the learning path, I would recommend focusing on hands-on practice and revision of key concepts. Build a small sample application covering CRUD operations, roles and permissions, validation, aggregates, reusable blocks, and exception handling.

Pay special attention to Reactive Web concepts, client and server actions, security, and performance optimization. Also, practice debugging common scenarios and take mock tests to identify knowledge gaps.
In my experience, spending more time working in Service Studio and understanding real-world behavior is much more effective. While revising topics, you can do some practicals.

Good luck with your exam.

The Certification is more about hands on experience on the platform, and what would you prefer things in scenarios.

Thanks
