Connection refused on

Symptom: The OutSystems Platform Community Edition fails to install due to an error with the OutSystems default service ports (12000-12004). The OutSystemsInstall.log shows an error stating that “No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it”.

Cause: The OutSystems Platform Community Edition needs ports 12000 and 12004 to be available on localhost and you have some network settings preventing your system to contact those ports.

Resolution: Configure your system to let those ports available for OutSystems services:

  1. If you have your firewall enabled, please check ports 12000-12004 are not restricted.

  2. If your system has IPV6 configured, edit your hosts file (on %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) and include the entry “ localhost” so localhost can be directed to during the installation process.
