Troubleshoot: OutSystems Services Do Not Start in the Java Stack

Hi,

Sometimes you might check the status of the OutSystems Platform services by running:service outsystems status and they are stopped, for some reason you don't understand why.

Troubleshoot
First you should try to start the services by executing service outsystems start <service name>
If the service continues stopped, go check the processed running using top -u outsystems . If the the COMMAND column, the processes are set with 'sleep', a possible cause can be:
  • Invalid PATH parameters
  • The 'outsystems' user does not have adequate permissions
Resolution
Check the  /etc/sysconfig/outsystems file and check whether the environment variables JBOSS_HOME, ANT_HOME, JAVA_HOME and CURRENTHOSTIP exist and have the currect path assigned.

After changing the paths to their correct value, you can restart the OutSystems Platform services and check if they are all up and running.
service outsystems restart
service outsystems status
