hi
i see this is a pretty old component.
i wanted to try it out but i get an error :(

i tried creating my own api key but that didn't work
how can i fix this?

Hi Tammy,

I assume you’re using the Google Maps component from the Forge.
That message appears because the application is using an invalid Google Maps API key. The key bundled with the component is dummy.
You have to use your own Google Maps API key. This guide shows you how to obtain it.

Next, replace the dummy API key with the API key you’ve obtained from Google. You have to change the site property GoogleMapsKey of the GoogleMaps_Sample eSpace and the site property DefaultMapKey of the GoogleMaps eSpace.
