[Silk UI Web] Silk UI TABS and BreadCrumbs
Question

Forge asset by OutSystems
My requirements is to have more than 5 tabs and 5 breadcrumbs in my application. But Silk UI Framework only supports 5 at max.

I need help on how to create more TABS and Breadcrumbs in Silk UI.

It would be better if we can mention how many tabs and breadcrumbs we want to show dynamically

Please assist

Hello Sunny,

We stumbled upon some technical limitations that prevent us from doing that change on Silk. Meaning that these features are out of scope for now, and there is no plan to do them.

As a workround, you can copy the pattern to our application and customize it to your needs.

I laughed so hard when I read this. If there were technical limitations, there wouldn't exist a workaround that is "copy and paste the block and add more code"

The real answer should be: Product Management does not want to spend time/budget in letting a developer use 5 minutes and do a copy/paste to allow, lets say 10 tabs...

Technical limitations is just funny...

Best regards,

PC

Hi Rohit,

Thanks for the feedback, in the next release it will be possible to add up to 8 tabs and breadcrumbs.

By now, there isn't an workaround to add more tabs. What you can do is add two Tabs widgets in the same page and try to work with that.

Is there any working example where this Tabs copy is working with more than 5 tabs?

Hello Pedro,

I'm sorry to say that no, we do not have a working example since we don't even support more than 5 tabs.

Good luck, though!

Since I just got asked the same I decided to go ahead and created a sample that goes with up to 10 tabs. Surely too much from a usability perspective but proves the point...

Find it attached.

Beware of limits of the objects on 1 single screen too. Don't put too much on 1 single screen it will affect the performance as well.
