(Visual) export or print of the datamodel?
Question

Hi all,

Is there a way to export / print the datamodel in ServiceStudio?

create a entity-diagram, then go to menu::module -> export -> diagram-name to image

Thanks J., that works indeed. A .png file is created.

However, only the part of the datamodel visible on the screen in ServiceStudio is exported. That's ok for smaller models, but not for larger models. I managed to display all entities on the screen, but with a few more that won't be possible anymore.

This is what I mean .... just the 'on screen visual part' of the datamodel is exported.

you could zoom out a little bit and make the window larger.

IMNSHO, OutSystems should endevour to up their game with the entity diagramming tool.

1) Export the whole diagram, regardless of what is shown in the "porthole" window.
2) Add an automatic layout feature to produce an optimized layout based on relationships (see ER-Studio or Toad)
3) Enhance the entity display with data types and key icons to indicate PK, AK and FK fields

This would bring the tool up to what many data modelers would consider Minimum Viable levels.  :-)

Btw, it is now possible to auto-arrange an entity diagram, but I don't think it'll do an effort of trying to fit all in the screen. See https://www.outsystems.com/ideas/826/Entity+diagram+auto-arrange
