PNG Image Trick - Supporting Images with a Transparency Layer in All Browsers
Question
PNG is an image file format that allows a transparency layer (also called alpha channel).
This means that unlike GIFs where you can only say if an area is transparent or not, PNG lets you specify that some pixels are 35% transparent, for instance.
Transparency layers are very good for ant-alias rounded images that you want to display over different background colors.
Browsers IE6 and before had problem displaying these, but here is a little trick on how to make them work:
