I think what is meant here is that when you drag (with the mouse) a statement icon on the canvas, you will see guide lines (dashed lines protruding horizontal and/or vertical) and when you drop the statement icon Service Studio will snap the icon to a location that aligns with other icons:

With this release, on your canvas, when you drag widgets, they would be arranged automatically for x and y coordinates of canvas.

Thanks, I was hoping that they were something like that. 

I only see them when I drag after the initial drop, it would be useful if in a future release these could show on the initial drag from the left hand menu..

Yeah, I think that's a bug, and I've already reported it.
