Upload Excel from outsystem to (own)Database

Upload Excel from outsystem to (own)Database

Dear Experts,

I need your help to do handle some challenges in outsystems.

I want to upload excel file form outsystems and store in my database (SQL) (not in the outsystems database) and my next step will be retrieve the data from Database and show to the user.

I know I can do it in outsystems, but  I'm new here, any post OR any expert can help to upload the data from excel to my own database and retrieve from the database as well..

Many Thanks..

Ritz

Hi ritz,

You can connect to your external database using Integration studio.

Hi Ritz,

It's like Mental Image said. More info on how to connect to an external database can be found her: https://success.outsystems.com/Documentation/10/Extensibility_and_Integration/Connect_to_an_External_Database

These external entities can then be used just like normal entities. Of course the user you configure to connect to your external database must have write permissions to store the file.

so if I push OR call 'CreateRecord' action of that entity, it will automatically save in database??

If you have write access to the external database, you can use the Create-action for that specific table to insert the record in your database. You have of course to assign the excel file to your record first. As I assume based on your question, you're storing it as a binary. If you're storing the values instead, you can use ExcelToRecordList to get the values and then store these values.
