Creating Stored procedure in Outsystem entity.

How to create stored procedure in Outsystem entity?

Hi Ananth,

Store procedures are database-dependent programs that are seperate from database tables. You cannot create a stored procedure "in" an Entity (which represents a table in the database).

That said, stored procedures aren't supported by the OutSystems Platform. You can create them directly in the database if you have access to it (and probably via a SQL Statement), but you'll have to take into account things like physical table names etc. Definitely not recommended!

Hi Kilian,

Thanks for your reply.

So, we can't create stored procedures in Outsystem DB. We can do them in external DB only. Right?

Well, you can create them in the OutSystems database, but it's not trivial, and not recommended. Your logic should be in OutSystems, not in the database. As for external databases, I'm not entirely sure you can expose them through Integration Studio in order to use them.

If it is possible, then please tell me how to do it in outsystem database?

Hi All,We can create stored procedure and use it in out systems..no restriction.

only u have valid license and db access.

Hi Ananth,

You need access to the database, like Jitendra says, and of course the right permissions to create stored procedures.
