Hi Folks,

I need to redirect below URL to www.somesiteabc.cb1234.nl/maintainence

www.cb1234.nl/mainflowxyz/

So, below would be the values:-

Base URL: www.cb1234.nl/mainflowxyz/

Replace With: www.somesiteabc.cb1234.nl/maintainence

Note: Above URLs are dummy for example purpose.

This setting is not working. I enabled the rule. What else would I be missing? Any cache to clear?

Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Sandeepkumar Gupta

Hi Sandeepkumar,

You are redirecting to different domain servers.

  • Your domain is: www.cb1234.nl
  • Other domain is: www.somesiteabc.cb1234.nl

You might need to configure both domain certificates.

But what is your use case, maybe I can suggest to you a faster solution.

Regards,

Marco

Hi Marco,

We want to show the maintenance page from other domain during the downtime of our main application with other domain. So, we want to enable redirect rule for some time. We want just a temporary redirect response to the browser. Why do we need to configure the certificate of maintenance page site? Note maintenance page site is not in outsystem. It is a different server altogether.

One solution could I can use ExternalURL in preparation of each web screen. But it seems too much of work since I need to revert it post maintenance work. I thought "redirect rules" is out of the box feature in outsystems.

Thanks,

Sandeep

Hi Sandeep,

OutSystems platform will translate matching entry URL to redirect to the pointed URL.

However when use different domain servers, then the platform to guarantee the HTTPs connection will validate the your ownership certificate for the provided domain.

And can you provide more info:

1) Are you using a Java stack?

2) Are you using cloud or premise?
